Sony is still trying to kill paper. From the looks of the Digital Paper DPT-RP1, they’re getting close. I’m not sure I want to carry around a 13 in. notepad, but the appeal of being able to use a touchscreen with an ePen as easily as I do paper is strong. This version is an improvement on the previous DPT-S1, increasing the resolution to 1650 x 2200 and has a non-slip screen to make it easier to write and feel a bit less awkward. They’ve also developed a new app that converts websites and documents to PDFs. Unfortunately, you can’t read books or use Word yet, but the versions that take hold most certainly will. This thing is not going to be cheap at about $720 when it releases this summer.
