I am digging this new trend of brands hosting outdoor events. Sure, it’s their marketing dollars at work, but as Red Bull has been showing us for many years, brand-sponsored events can be ridiculously awesome. The Camelbak Pursuit series by the Outbound Collective is a 3-day blast that includes adventures, fun, classes, and some time to hang out with your friends and cool people. There aren’t a lot of details on the exact format of the 3 days, but there will definitely be opportunities to get instruction on all manner of outdoor activities like camp cooking, wilderness survival, backcountry navigation, basecamp essentials, landscape photography, and astronomy.
There will also be a number of activities available that include backpacking, slacklining, meditation, mountain biking, SUPing, climbing, yoga, kayaking, trail running, fly fishing and hiking. If you’ve still got some energy after all that, there are group dinners, live music, on-site camping and complimentary beer, wine, cocktails, and the almighty s’more. Brands will be on-site to offer demos of their gear and goods to sweeten the deal. A full 3-day pass will run you $399 and will come with a welcome kit filled hundreds of dollars worth of swag. On-site camping, meal plans, transportation and upgraded Under Canvas accommodations are all an additional cost. If you can pony up the cash, you’re in for a fantastic time. Current dates scheduled are:
Salt Lake City, Utah (snowbasin); August 11-13
San Francisco, California (Sanborn CP); September 8-10
