Upscout Recon Launching Late 2017

Welcome to Upscout Recon. The Recon is our list of semi-sponsored posts that will be visible all over the site with a select few being included in our regular newsletter.  We’re well aware of all the daily submissions we aren’t able to respond to and know you work just as hard as anyone on your product, service or event. You should have a way to be heard. That’s the whole idea of Upscout Recon. It’s a running wire of all the product reconnaissance from the field that doesn’t make it all the way to the top brass.

How it Works

Here’s how it works:

  1. You write a draft post about your product, service or event with images.
  2. Submit them to us in an email with the subject “Upscout Recon” to hello@theupscout.com.
  3. We’ll review/edit to make sure it is legit and appropriate for our audience.
  4. If it’s approved, you’re cool with any edits we make, and payment ($25) is made, it will be added to the Upscout Recon posts

Why $25?

Frankly, we have to charge because it takes time for us to make it happen and we can’t do it for free.  We think $25 is a pretty good deal considering the exposure, but it’s up to you.

How long does it take to get it posted?

There’s no guaranteed timing, but if the draft you provide is good and the images work, it shouldn’t take more than a couple days to go from your email to posted article.

What kinds of products, services, and events are you looking for?

Hopefully, you have spent at least some time looking at our site and have asked to be included in the Recon because you already think you are a fit with our audience. Our test in considering products is “do we love this and think any guy would too?” If the answer is yes to both, it’s probably a good fit. Obviously, your product should fit in one of the categories at the top of the page. We get tons of submissions that pass this test, but can’t cover them all, hence the Upscout Recon!

Where will the posts be seen?

The running list of Recon posts will be on every page of the website other than the homepage. Select products will also be included in our newsletter at our discretion.

How long will the posts stay on the site?

They will generally stay on the site indefinitely but may be removed at our discretion. Typically that would be because your crowdfunding campaign didn’t fund and you aren’t pursuing the product, the event has passed, or your service is no longer being offered.

Will it be included in your newsletter?

Maybe. We know everyone’s inbox is a sacred place and we don’t want to put anything in it that isn’t wanted. So, we’ll cherry pick from the Recon and include what we think our readers will love.  No need to ask to be included. We’ll assume everyone wants in the newsletter.

How do I pay?

We accept PayPal or any major credit cards. We’ll send you a link to the payment page when your Recon post is approved.
