First of all, I think we can all agree that if a film has Nicole Kidman in it, we’re going to watch it. She is joined by Colin Farrell, Barry Keoghan and Alicia Silverstone for the chilling new movie, The Killing of a Sacred Deer. I have to give it up for the trailer as it’s gives hardly anything away while showing just enough to rope you in and instill a touch of fear. It’s a self-described drama/horror/mystery/thriller so it doesn’t appear to take a supernatural turn but you really never know, and that’s what I like about it. The description is so short that I’m having a hard time rephrasing, so here it is: “Steven, a charismatic surgeon, is forced to make an unthinkable sacrifice after his life starts to fall apart, when the behavior of a teenage boy he has taken under his wing turns sinister.” The movie comes out October 27 and has already won Best Screenplay at the Cannes Film Festival 2017.
