1922 is an adaptation of Stephen King’s novella and it looks wicked intense. It follows a rural family in 1922 that isn’t exactly the Brady Bunch. Dad kills mom and tries to hide it, but mom comes back and haunts the hell out of him until he goes completely off his rocker. This is one of those scary movies that doesn’t rely entirely on herky-jerky movements, jump out gotcha moments and gore. The freak family is downright creepy and you get increasingly immersed as it builds to a crescendo a la The Shining. Mark your calendar for October 20th to watch this on Netflix because it’s going to be good.
