It’s hard to make a tee shirt that is noticeably better than other tee shirts, especially in a world of “high-performance” shirts, materials, and technologies. Outdoor Research has managed to do it. The company lovingly referred to as OR by those in the outdoor world is known for making high quality stuff, but the Echo Duo tee shirt is remarkable. Designed for high-exertion activities and warm weather it excels at keeping you from feeling like you’re wearing a wet sack when the sweat starts to pour. The material feels impossibly thin as though it won’t stand up to the elements, but it is surprisingly tough. I’ve been wearing it for everything from mountain biking to hiking to canyoneering and general outdoor hijinks and can’t come up with a single complaint. It wears like it’s not there, keeps chafing in check, dries fast, doesn’t reek like some performance shirts, and looks great. It fits close or loose depending on how you size it, but takes pack straps without bunching either way. don’t discount this shirt just because summer is waning – there are still a lot of activities that get you sweating year round and this is a great shirt for any of them.
