After more than 6 years of designing and redesigning, Curtiss Knives is out with the Original Dog Tag (ODT) Flipper, a frame lock flipper. Prototypes were sent to various knife enthusiast to use and test for 3 months and it passed with flying colors so now we are lucky enough to get our hands on one. The overall length of the knife is 3″ with a weight of just 2.2 oz. The 1″ blade is constructed of CTS-XHP with a .160″ thickness. When the knife is closed, it is the exact dimensions of a regulation dog tag – hence the name of the knife. The frame is constructed of 6AL4V Titanium with a dark stonewash finish although you can also get in several anodized colors including blue, yellow, purple and green with my favorite being the heat torched. The compact design leave no room for a clip but it fits perfectly in your pocket in the zippered case so the clip isn’t even missed. Prices for the ODT Knife start at $295 with prices varying upon customization.
