There are a lot of successful kickstarter campaigns out there and a lot of successful watch campaigns, but LIV watches has absolutely killed. According to LIV, this campaign for their latest iteration of their Genesis X1, called the GX1-A is the most backed Swiss watch campaign and has raised over a quarter of a million dollars with an original goal of $40k. It’s understandable. They’re coming off of a previously extremely successful campaign and delivered a solid watch to a ton of people who came back for more and told their friends.
The GX1-A has features that can be found in other watches but rarely all together. It uses a Swiss automatic 26 jewel movement with 38 hour power reserve, is actually made in Switzerland, has a skeleton case-back to show off the mechanics and uses sapphire crystal for both the front and the back. The case is 316L stainless and coated for a great texture. It’s rated to 100M of water resistance and has a double gasket screw down closure to make sure you can actually get under water with it. Overall size is 47mm in dia. and 11.6 mm. thick. There a bunch of strap options as well. It’s a solid watch at a deep discount from the eventual retail. If you’re quick, you can still snag one for a pledge of $449.
