I’m always looking for a new piece of quality go-to gear that will keep me from having to make decisions about what to bring or use. Over the years I’ve managed to put together a solid collection of items that I trust, love and use all the time.
This watch from the fledgling Alberta Watches could be one of those things. It has a large 41mm face but elegantly simple design that makes it both timeless and fashionable. Unlike so many watches that can be worn to work without breaking the bank ($49 super early bird on kickstarter – goes up to $95 retail), it is also water proof and has a solid Japanese quartz movement that comes from the same factory that makes Bulovas. The glass is scratch resistant and the band can be had in either the classic brown standard or a hand made “Saddlemaker” that is crafted by a master saddlemaker. The battery is easily replaceable, and the dial glows in the dark as you hope it would. Overall, this is an awesome deal and great watch from a small maker who puts the thought and care into the creation.
